JUNIOR ANGLERS

One of the oldest and most productive programs that the Bass Federation has ever had is the TBF Junior Angler Program. In this program young anglers 8th grade and below in active junior fishing clubs that are sponsored by TBF adult Bass Clubs.

We have active state Junior Programs in 47 states across the country. These junior anglers fish in club tournaments and participate in fundraising and conservation projects just like the adults do. The competitive branch of this program allows the anglers to qualify for their states Junior State Championship and eventually qualify for the TBF Junior World Championship.

The JWC is the premier junior fishing tournament in the world and it is held each year in conjunction with the Forest Wood Cup which is Professional Fishing richest event. Junior Anglers are treated to 4 days of action packed events which include a series of educational seminars, a 2 day tournament format and complete access to the Fun Zone and the FLW Cup Event.

STUDENT ANGLER FEDERATION (SAF)

      In School Fishing Program

One of the fastest growing youth related movements across the country are High School fishing clubs!

The Bass Federation, the nation’s oldest and largest organized grassroots fishing organization, is leading the way with the development of the Student Angler Federation.

So what is the SAF? First of all, it’s a great way to promote education through fishing. Have you ever asked yourself, “when am I ever going to need to know this, or why do I need to learn that”? The objective of the SAF is to relate subject matter and basic principles of education to how anglers use them out on the water every day. Also, the SAF is aimed at getting students off the couch and back into the great outdoors by promoting the formation of fishing clubs and outdoor activities within the school. A byproduct of SAF efforts is the creation of competitive fishing in club tournaments and events between neighboring schools.

How can your school get started? The process is pretty simple. First, if you’re an educator or parent interested in starting a club, visit our contact page to apply for the free SAF Packet.  The packet includes a 15 minute classroom DVD, a sample copy of our club workbook, and detailed information about the SAF membership process, benefits, and dues.

If you’re a student, there’s one more step; meet with your principle or teacher to ask for a little help getting started. Then, they can apply for the same packet and be on your way by filling out the form on our type of contact page.

Why join the SAF? The Bass Federation has more experience and active fishing clubs than any other organization. We know it’s necessary to build clubs up from an organizational standpoint with vital components like insurance coverage, textbooks and experience in organized fishing events.

What’s the cost? The SAF is less than the cost to play nearly all “Stick and Ball sports”, such as Little League baseball. The benefits make it one of the best bargains in all of sports. The membership dues are $25 per student, and for that each club member, the club itself and any volunteer who participates in a club event are covered by liability insurance through the SAF.

Also, for each student who joins, we provide a workbook, a one year subscription to FLW Outdoor’s Electronic Magazine, and the opportunity to qualify and fish in the High School Fishing World Finals!

ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGIATE ANGLERS (ACA)

2019-Bass-Pro-Shops-Collegiate-Bass-Fish

The Association of Collegiate Anglers has designed a multifaceted Bass Pro Shop's School of the Year program designed to both rank and reward collegiate fishing teams throughout the country.  The program is built to reward teams that compete with the ACA in the Bass Pro Shop's Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, as well as select national Carhartt College B.A.S.S and FLW events.

The respective championship events for each series will count towards the Bass Pro Shop's School of the Year program as well.  In addition to the three national collegiate fishing trails, the ACA will also award points for select ACA-sanctioned events throughout the season.

Events eligible for points is maintained on the Collegiate Bass Championship, and can be found typeof a here.  As part of the program, the ACA will award points to each competing school, based on their finish in the event in relation to field size.  In addition to competition points, teams can also earn points for hosting their own events.
